Our innovative and growing company is hiring for a commodity analyst based in Lusaka, Zambia. In this position, you will be responsible for interfacing between business development and local producers. You will be pivotal in ensuring the success of the organisation in the Zambian market, building supply networks and meeting current and future customer needs for key products.
Exigences
Requirements and skills
experience in sourcing and logistics in a commodities trading environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced PC skills and analytical skills
Ability to be flexible on a number of work assignment changes, and meet changing deadlines
strong local market knowledge and ability to network
familiarity with good mining practices
Interpret and implement trading and sourcing guidelines prescribed by the company
Project management skills to ensure delivery of minerals and development of various projects
Responsibilities
Maintain log of quoting performance in terms of cycle time to administer quote and results of quote activities
If required, available for special assignments or projects requiring someone with thorough knowledge of the systems, processes and procedures used by the Commodity Management team
Provide assistance in the performance of various routine commodity management assignments
Exercise working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to ensure effective sourcing of products for the Commodity Manager
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed
Develop supply base
Research Commodities Markets
Manage Commodity Research projects
Analyse historical commodity markets data, cash and futures
